BRAS BAS
Bras bass is also called “preparatory position. The arms are held down in front of the body in the shape of an oval. The hands are in front of the hips. Imagine that you have a big balloon in your arms and feel its resistance. The fingers are just barely touching.

FIRST POSITION
Imagine you have a big balloon in your arms and feel its resistance. Hold the balloon
in front of you. The arms are bent in the shape of an oval, with the hands at the level of the
navel. The fingers are just barely touching. Support your elbows, keep them well up.

SECOND POSITION
From the first position, open your arms position to the side. The shoulders are down, the elbows upward. Imagine that if there was a drop of water falling from your shoulder it would rolls down your arm and drips off your finger. The line should continue nicely.

THIRD POSITION
Both arms are lifted above the head, slightly forward. They form an oval. Keep your shoulders well down.

ALLONGE
Means “to elongate”. Stretch out your position and pull up your entire body extra during this movement.
